I love these posters. I recently chose to do a project on the graphic design used during the civil rights era. I chose to focus on the United Farm Workers movement. I never really knew who Cesar Chavez was, I just knew that he was an activist. It wasn’t until I went out and did further research that I found out the accomplishments he achieved for migrant workers.
I love how these posters put graphic design in a place of power. Where because of design people were being reached and messages were being spread. Social change and awareness was being awoken because these messages were coded under a visual language that spoke to everyone.
